How do I create a CSV file in Excel?

Open the Excel document and select the workbook page that contains the data you wish to import.

Your file may look something like this.

You may also create a CSV data file in Excel using the top row of cells for the information labels or titles (field names), and entering the contact information (the field values) into the cells.

Click File > Save As from the Excel menu bar.

Type in a file name you can remember, and make sure the "Save in:" location at the top of the Save As form is someplace you can find easily, such as My Documents or on your Desktop.

Save the file type as CSV, using the type selection box. You may have to scroll down a bit to see the CSV option.

 

 

 

 

Click OK and Yes to any warning screen Excel gives you. Now you have a .csv file ready for import.
