You can easily import all your Outlook contacts into this system. Plus, the system will automatically scan through your email folders, collect any contacts and email addresses it finds, and import them. For example, if you import your Sent Items folder, anyone you ever sent email to (if you have not removed it from your Sent items) will be imported. You also can import from your archive folders, or any Outlook .pst file. At the end of the import process you can review all the names and email addresses found, and uncheck any that you do not want imported into the system.
Remember to treat your email addresses politely. Just because you have their address, it does not mean they specifically requested to receive commercial messages from you (opted-in). To be CAN-SPAM compliant, any commercial message, whether to one person or one thousand, must contain a function opt-out unsubscribe mechanism and the sender's physical mailing address; both are automatically provided using the default CAN-SPAM compliance footer.
Importing contacts from Outlook
Choose Import from Outlook from the PoliteMail menu.
This will open the Import Contacts window. Select the contacts you wish to import by either copying your Outlook contacts, or browsing your Global Address Book, your Inbox, or your Sent Items folder. You may import contacts from any Outlook folder (.pst file), including your Personal or Public folders.

After the system processes your files (step 2), set the contact properties. You can set the contact type, set the contact owner, add the imported contacts to an existing mailing list, or create a new shared or private mailing list for this group. Once they are in the system, you can decide how you want to share these contacts with the other users.

This system allows one unique email address per contact, so when duplicate email addresses are found, you can choose either to update existing contacts or only import new contacts.
Review the import list, uncheck the contacts you do not want, and save the import.

Your contact are now in both your Outlook and the PoliteMail system. When you make changes to contact information within the system (i.e. to address or phone numbers), you have the option to save those changes back to Outlook.
