When would I use the search feature?

Use the search feature whenever you want to find and segment your contacts based on specific communications, response behaviors, or demographic information. For example, all contacts who did not open a particular email message and are primary decision makers. You also can use the search feature to find contacts with similar attributes who have received different communications from you, and combine them into a new list. This feature also is valuable if you wish to combine contacts from other users shared mailing lists into a larger communication strategy.

What information does the system use to process the searches?
